LIVE BAIT TARPON FISHING AT THE WORLD FAMOUS
BAHIA HONDA BRIDGE
Tarpon Fishing with A1A Sportfishing
The Florida Keys has always been famous for it's tarpon fishing. You can fish for tarpon year around, but the main migration shows up in March barring any late cold front's. Water temperature has everything to do with their arrival. The tarpon that stay here year around are called resident tarpon by the local guides. From March to the end of July provides excellent angling opportunities for both fly and live bait fisherman alike. Tides are very important for fish movement, some spot's are better on the incoming tide and some are better on the falling tide. Your Florida Keys guide will know where to go and on which tide to be there.
In the day time when the tarpon are moving from bridge to bridge you can stake out on the sand run's and get shot's at fish that can number from a few to a hundred that will pass within your casting range. We fish the same tarpon early morning and late evening drifting crab's pinfish and jig's when weed conditions permit. I fish two tides a day early morning where you see the sunrise and an evening tide where you see a beautiful key's sunset. My boat and fishing equipment is new and in excellent working order. I fish out of the state park 14 miles from Marathon at the world famous Bahia Honda bridge and 25 mile's up US 1 from Key West. When you get to my boat you are minute's away from hooking a tarpon. I'm a third generation fishing guide that has been fishing out of the park for 40 plus year's.
